School Trips

This year (literally), I have been invited on two school field trips, one to go see Salt Lake Community College's performance of Macbeth, ad one to Granite School District's Choir Festival. I was lucky enough to be able to attend both of these trips, since I out my foot down when my Algebra teacher thought it would be fine and dandy to prevent me from going on my Choirs field trip to Gateway and a senior rest home during the month of December. Since I was prevented to go on that trip, I was forced to go to his class, which was my next period. I gave him a death glare so vile that he stayed away from me for a few days. Then I raised hell over it to the school administrators, and I was told that I could never be dis-allowed from going on field trips unless it was something that had specific grade or citizenship requirements.
Festival:
On Monday, I went to Granite School District's Annual Choir Festival. There were 8 schools total in this event, hosted at Kennedy Jr. High. When we arrived, it seemed to me to be a whole lot of very unnecessary walking around and around and around the auditorium, which was located in the very middle of the school. Kennedy Jr. was a very interesting school, I must admit. They had about shoulder-height lockers perhaps 4 inches thick, a large auditorium, and a lot of posters and paintings and pictures on the walls. The library was large, yet, it seemed to have very few shelves, let alone books. Additionally, it seemed to be the computer lab as well, so perhaps it was not a Library, but a Media Center. We were the first to perform, so the choir was a bit nervous, but we were fine as soon as we got onstage. There were a number of technical difficulties, for example, when I stepped on the riser, it wobbled very dangerously, and I paused for a moment, unsure if I should continue on or not. When I tested the platform with my foot, it seemed to hold, so I continued on as if nothing had happened. While we were performing, there were students crawling beneath us, screwing bolts back into place. It was a nerve wracking time, but we managed to pull through like true professionals. My mother was busy as a chaperon on my sister’s trip to Red Butte Gardens, so my Grandma Debby, Aunt Aubrey, Cousin Ashleigh, and Aubrey's 4 month old son, Xavier came in her stead. We received the 2nd place ranking, which was very good. Evergreen was better than we were, but we were all very good-natured about it all, they admired us, and us them. Afterwards, one of the judges surprised us, and took us to lunch at Chiles.
The Scottish Play:
On Thursday, all of the 9th grade English classes took a trip to SLCC to see their production of Macbeth. Granite School District's bus drivers are Old. Men. And horrid drivers. Our driver sent us up over the curb three times. He also almost went through every red light we encountered, and two mini-vans almost ran into us as well. So we arrived at the College, and by the time we sat down and got situated, we had missed the beginning and a small portion of the middle of the show. It was no great loss to very many of us, but I enjoyed it all the same, despite not being able to sit with my friends, and in particular my boyfriend.
La Caille:
Teen Living and French 2 and 3 students went to La Caille today, but I refrained. Ross, Tahnee, Kylamen, and quite a few others that I know went as well. Ross looked very nice today, in a white t-shirt under an unbuttoned blue dress shirt. Kylamen tied Tahnee down to fix her hair and make her nice and very girly for this trip. I can't wait to see the pictures that I’m sure Ky will post on Facebook later on.

Time

Wow. i started this a Long time ago. since i'm rather lax in posting *blush* just check out http://keeganchaos.blogspot.com/ to find out all the funny little quirks of my life as seen by (and photographed!) my mother.

Some details. . . . I am 15, attending Hunter Jr. High School. This is my Freshman year, I'll spend my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year at Hunter Junior High. I royally suck at Math, I can only do up to Pre-Algebra stuff, but thats about it. I love to read, and I recently got a Kindle for Christmass, and it already has 64 items on it. My family annoys me to no end, but at the end of the day I always feel thankfull that i have them. . . most of the time. My future goal is to become a mother, and possibly an author, or barring that, an editor. I've found myself with some surprising new friends this year, and I continue to enjoy (or lament) the company of others from years past. The light of my day and motivation for getting out of bed continues to be my boyfriend of 5 1/2 years. He is there for me 9 times out of 10, and somtimes i forget just how wonderfull he is when my life gets hectic and stressed. I can't wait for Spring Break, my family is supposed to go visit my Keegan Grandparents, but nothing is for sure at the moment on account of my fathers work. Wowever, we do have concrete plans to go to Oahu, Hawaii this year during Christmass.

That's all for now!
